Whales versus Minnows on Steemit

in #whales8 years ago (edited)

defintion of minnows:

  1. a small or insignificant person or organization.

On Steemit you will hear the terms Whales and Minnows.

Whales are a reference to those who got into Steemit early and are big money earners.
Minnows are the mass of newbies who have joined recently and struggle for reward and recognition amongst the many minnows.

A lot of Minnows will upvote and comment on Whale posts hoping for a few scraps of reward, while the actual rewards pile up on the Whales. Whales who upvote each other are raking in the Steem, now multi-million dollar accounts, what happens to Steem if all these instant multi-million dollar accounts try to cash their Steem in on the market? Something to think about!

Whales need to remember that they too were once minnows! Would it be too much to ask for each Whale to adopt a school of minnows and share the rewards, while helping the minnows to learn and grow on Steemit?

These are just my thoughts and opinions on what I have seen so far in my few months on Steemit.
May rewards and blessings come to those who are in need and work towards a better future.

I want to acknowledge @fyrstikken for his support of us Minnows, thanks brother.

Amen! @fyrstikken was the first one -like his name ist saying- who support me and my channel. You are a role model for the community <3 A fat THANK YOU, STEEM ON !!!

If we can get just one a day to adopt a group will be great.
Great post..

In reality minnows are the mass of people who haven't passed a certain threshold of SP regardless of how long they have been with Steemit, example: Me.

Amen! Great post...
