The prefix  meta implies that it is behind o even inside token.
It is my understainding that meta tokens are made by burning (or destruying) another coin, which backups the value or the newly created token, and this is called proof-of-burn. I assume whaleshares are made by burning steems (or perhaps bitshares[?]), haven't asked. 

Nope. Dont need to burn steem when u can power it up to make the whale you summon stronger... ;)
