So, let me see if I understand this properly...

Whales don't want to power down and lose curation power. But, powering down was the only way to liquidate a lot of Steem Power, and it happened over the course of months. WhaleShares provides a marketplace for people to apply whale Steem Power for a fee. Thus, everyone "wins".

Does the bitshares market just set prices on what the SP vote is worth? How does it map to the real world value of SBD and Steem?

i.e. Are whales taking a small hit on their WhaleShares because they are getting the money immediately?
