WhatsApp already allows you to watch YouTube videos while you continue to chat in the app.
The mobile messaging service WhatsApp launched the option to watch YouTube videos as a floating window, without having to leave the application.
This new feature in English is known as Picture in Picture (PiP), which translates image on image.
The option, which had been announced since 2017, is now only available for iPhone users who have version 2.18.11, which is the latest version of the app.
Before this update, when YouTube videos were shared via WhatsApp, the link redirected to the video site, while now you can watch the video and continue the conversation.
The video, even, can continue seeing when happening of a conversation to another one within the app.
When the video is sent from YouTube with the "Share" application, there is no problem, but when it is shared by hitting the YouTube link directly on WhatsApp, it is necessary to wait a few seconds for the thumbnail to be generated before giving "Send"; otherwise it will not generate the floating screen.
