I have recently had the honor of being too busy to be on Steemit 24/7 as I would like to be, but I find myself lost as to whats been happening this week... anyone wanna fill me in?
1. How is everything going in terms of development? Has anything been added/changed this week?
2. Why is the price still taking a steady dive downwards?
3. Is there any sign of a bottom or are we going back to 25 cent Steem?
4. How is user engagement doing this past month? Is it still going up? User growth etc?
5. What is being done if anything about the "lottery" style payouts? Is it always going to be a all or nothing payout?
6. Any cool new projects I missed this past week or two?
7. Whats being done to improve content discovery?
Thanks to everyone! Just looking for some answers.
Also; is there any sort of "changelog" of Steemit?
I suggest starting with steemmag by @infovore!
Content discovery. You might try steemups.com. It has good results.
@klye continued with his whistleblowers posts too and it was quite the corker. Well worth a read plus the comments. I would put the link in but get paranoid about linking in comments!
I'll second that.
My guess is the nose dive in the price of Steem is due to there being 80,000 accounts on Steemit but only 5,000 of those accounts are actually active is why the steep nose dive. Analysts don't like there to be only 5,000 active users out of 80,000 accounts. That's a pretty bad ratio if you ask me that's like McDonald's getting 80,000 people in the store but only selling 5,000 hamburgers. They need to come up with solutions to make this a more inclusive community for everyone not just a circle jerk that I have seen some people complain that it is. Because you see the same exact people as the top earners everyday.
Like an easier to use version that requires less effort :p Twitter anyone?
There is a project by @picokernel like this! https://steemit.com/steem/@picokernel/alpha-squeek-io-twitter-alternative-for-the-steem-blockchain
Yeah maybe an easier to use version of the site might help for sure not everyone knows how to use markdown or html coding.
Ha yeah I am working in this right now actually. Glad to hear there is demand.
Actually:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@magnebit/steem-price-is-being-pushed-down-by-1-person-speculation-on-why-and-where-it-may-end-up
It is the devs pushing price downwards in an effort to distribute SP.
It is all in the post, and especially in the comments. They are even losing money doing so.
And suggestion for proactive curation by linking to undervalued cool content at the end of the posts bY your truly. Can't say more, have to pack my things for the road. There is also a @robinhoodwhale, thing.
I feel like you but try to log in as much as possible to keep up with some news . I am very bad socializing regularly in chats. My posts are short and not deep enough because it takes too much time, I do not always have to create articles . I also lost some good ones due to "missing posting authority " message at the end of writing. My interest starts vanishing more and more for creating posts , therefore focus in reading more. I like the new robinhood whale initiative and also radiosteem . @infovore steemitmagazin is pretty cool. There are a lot of new members it seems and a growing German and Chinese community.
As I'm sure you can see the price came back up.. For the moment, but as far as users and content I think now that stuff like Squeek the "Steemit Twitter" and the ESteem app are helping with the price and hopefully will help us reach that 100k mark if not that 1 mil mark soon :D
