For me, Summer time is all about going out under the sun. May be the beach, mountains, forests or islands. These time I chose heading to this island called Calaguas at the heart of Camarines Norte, Bicol Philippines.
Calaguas has it’s clear blue water and pure powdery white sand in it’s long stretch shoreline!
In every places I’ve visited, I’m always looking forward to the sunset. And this is one of the best.
Calaguas Island is not just a beach but also has its mountains, you can call it “Batanes” of Camarines Norte. It’s just a 10min boatride from the main island plus 15min walk to the top for a better view of the islands.

This island is a very good place for friends and family to bond. To make this escapade more exciting, we didn’t rent a resort or a hotel, we did camping. Pinching our tent beside the cottage we rent is a better way to be one with nature. There are small trees in front of cottages to cover up the tents.
At night we made these lamp instead of bonfire, celebrating our friends birthday, we made some marshmallows and hotdogs.
This island is also a good place for those who love stargazing and who believed in shooting stars.
I’ll post soon about the itineraries and budget for a do-it-yourself camp. #jmmitravels
