Animes have a way of cheering us up when we’re down be it comedies or with motivational speeches. There are also series which are intense and kind of sucks you in immediately. These are a few according to their genres in no particular order so knock yourself out.
Action:
Bleach- It’s about a teenager who can see ghosts which leads to him meeting a soul reaper. Its a good story which doesnt leave you hanging. The main leads character is particularly interesting with his no-shit attitude.
Attack On Titan- It revolves around Eren, Mikasa and their friend Armin. It kept me practically glued to the screen. If you are not scared of a little gore and action then this is good for you. Beware, you wont close it till you see all of it.
Naruto-
There is no complete list without naruto. This is the story about a boy naruto who is ridiculed and treated badly by the villagers due to him being the host of the nine tailed demon. A few episodes were slightly annoying at first but keep watching and you wont regret it.
Fairytail-
Oh man!! If you like a bit of comedy with intensity then this is your spot.
Fairytail is set in a fictional world populated by wizards who join guilds and complete paid-requests. It is a series worth watching
One piece-
It’s a pirate story, about a boy luffy who strives to become the pirate king. This story revolves around the pasts and griefs of each member of the crew. A lovely watch but it may get dry at some points. The episodes after the two year gap are even more interesting to watch. You might even like this.
07-Ghost-
Oh man why does nobody mention this. Anyway this doesnt have that much of jokes but it keeps you interested. I dont know how to explain this without it being a paragraph so watch an episode and see for yourself
HunterxHunter-
Entertaining. Its about a boy who becomes a hunter to search for his father.
Dragon Ball Z-
Is there a person who doesn’t know about this?
Romantic Comedies:
Kaichou wa Maid Sama-
Hands down my favorite rom-com ever. Misaki the first female president is a boy-hating demon dictator who is a star to the teachers and a beacon of hope for the female students. What happens when someone finds out her secret?
Toradora-
A good watch. The two leads are in love with the other lead’s best friend.
Kamisama Hajimemashita-
Slow and sweet. Sort of vanilla. Good watch. Nanami finds herself suddenly homeless. She is given a kiss on the forehead by a stranger which leads to her being the new God for a shrine.
Ouran Host Club-
Haruhi is a scholarship student attending the elite academy. One day she breaks an object which results in her joining the club to pay for it. Entertaining watch.
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun-
My Little Monster focuses on the relationship between Shizuku Mizutani, who has absolutely no interests except in studying and her plans for the future, and a boy named Haru Yoshida, who sits next to Shizuku in class but rarely attends school. Together, as two previously unsocial beings, they help each other learn how to care for each other and relate with their friends and family.
Wolf Girl and Black Prince-
A relationship between Erika who desperately wants to fit into a clique so she would not be lonely and Kyoya who is dark-hearted than the princely quality he feigns towards others.
Finally!! If you don’t love rom-com and love a tear jerker instead then you can check out Winter Sonata. It’s a true story with lots of twists. I had a tissue box by my side the whole time.
RomCom without the Sakurasou? No way! And I would probaby put Zero no Tsukaima in there, too. Especially if you like Toradora.
