“White-eyed Vireos remind me of Peeps Easter candy," writes Bill Shreve in sharing his photo from Oklahoma. "I discovered this little beauty while I was trying to photograph some Blue-gray Gnatcatchers who had recently returned to the Wichita Mountains. A sudden burst of notes drew my attention and I was very pleased to find her perched nearby. I’ve read that they have been known to scold intruders. This may have been the case here. I’ll never know for sure, but I think it makes a nice story and was a very welcomed surprise. : )”
