Country wildlife

You never know what you'll come across living in the country. Actually, our cat Lucy found this guy. My son saw her out in the yard staring at something in the grass, so he went out and found this. It's a 2-3 foot long bullsnake. Completely harmless, though. They are rattlesnake wannabes. They have no rattler, but when threatened, they forcefully vibrate their tails to scare off predators.

That is cool and scary!

but for a normal person to come across a snake in their backyard, they'd panic. i know i would!

I think if I came across one these guys unexpectedly, I'd freak out! I knew this one was out there because the cat had spotted it, lol.

i wonder what a doge would do to it ;)

Our German Shepherd was circling around it and barking her head off, lol. The snake would strike at her if she got too close, which just infuriated her more, haha!

Nasty little vipers, aren't they?

Oh how awesome!! Beautiful snake! We just found a baby in our yard last week. I have a picture of our 6yr old daughter holding it here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@pippininja/hello-steemit-world-my-first-post-i-come-bearing-gifts-free-48hr-download-professional-panoramic-nashville-skyline-taken-by-me
