Do you remember when I talked about how secure Windows is these days? It wasn’t just a random thought, I was in the middle of deciding on buying a new modern laptop. And after years of using Linux exclusively I found myself seriously considering going back to Windows. And guess what? I finally made it!
I got myself an Asus Zenbook Duo, a laptop that’s all about innovation and multitasking, a dual-screen laptop! I really liked the possibilities it offered, especially for productivity workflows.

Deciding to step away (even partially) from Linux wasn’t easy. I’ve been a big fan of its reliability, flexibility, and, of course, the open-source philosophy. But I started to hit some limitations when it came to specific software. Many professional tools I use are simply optimized for Windows.
Furthermore Windows has come a long way in the past few years. It’s more stable, more secure and more polished than it used to be. That was one of the reasons I wrote that earlier post about its security. I wanted to be sure it could hold up to my standards. And in fact: it does.
First Impressions of the Asus Zenbook Duo
I’ve only had it for a few days, but I’m already impressed: The dual-screen design is amazing, really useful for multitasking, letting me keep tools and secondary windows open while focusing on the main screen. This laptop is fast, responsive, and handles everything as if I had a desktop monitor. The keyboard is removable and it feels surprisingly comfortable, and while the battery life takes a hit with both screens running, it’s still good enough for my needs.
Windows feels modern, the interface is sleek, the performance is solid, and the native support for so many tools makes life easier. Of course, there are things I miss about Linux, but I don’t regret making the switch.
Will I Still Use Linux?
Absolutely yes! Linux isn’t going anywhere in my life. It’s still my go-to system on other devices, and I love the flexibility it offers. But I’m excited to see how this dual setup works for me and how Windows fits into my workflow.
After thinking about it for a long time, I'm super satisfied for now! 😁💻

Windows is a really great choice tbh. But maybe that's bcos its the only system I've ever used all my life. I've heard about Linux a couple of times too but I think its for those so-called geeks lol. Which I'm not one. Congrats on your new tool, im sure it'll serve you well.
I actually learned to use Linux when I was a kid. And yes, I've always been a bit of a geek 😁
Thank you very much!
Wow
I met my first geek (on HIVE)🤓 lol
You're always welcome. Maybe id get to enjoy Linux when I start my journey into the programming and geekie world this year.
