I actually started watching it after reading your post. I'm only half way through the first episode, so it's too soon to say anything, but it definitely looks promising. I was unfamiliar with the entire concept (Haven't read the novels, never played the game), and one of the few people on this Earth who never watched a single episode of GOT, so I'm completely unbiased. Curious to find out more. (Only downside: I can only watch when I'm home alone. Too creepy for my girlfriend, lol)

I would have to say that you should watch the whole season... things are not clear until that moment when you realise that $%^%$@%^@%^@$%^%$%$^ (censored). That is more critical if you aren't familiar with the universe already, as it is telling stories that I already knew!

I'm definitely planning to watch more

PS: Tell your partner she is a chicken...

Hahaha, I tell her every day

Are the second person this week that's been talking about this series on Netflix.
I'm getting intrigued now.. I must watch one episode and decide .. ha ha

Give it a go... although, I would say that you should watch the whole season... there are things that are completely interlocked and you won't understand until later!

Thanks.. Since tomorrow is a holiday, it would be a good time to watch it :)

The sword fight is pretty awesome, watched 5 episodes so far and its the best one yet.

The one on one sword fights are definitely awesome! They are really well choreographed.... the group ones are less interesting to watch...

Finished watching the entire season and the best sword fight was in the first episode. A bit disappointed that nothing better fight scenes toped that.

I started watching it last night and got through the first 4 episodes. I like it.

As for the games, I haven't played myself, but I didn't watch a Polish friend streaming gameplay quite a bit. I think I'll give Witcher 3 a try if it goes on sale.

Witcher 3 is awesome... you won't regret it! Play it on hard... it is a beautiful and engaging universe... much better than the candy good vs evil worlds of normal high fantasy!

Yeah, I keep hearing it's awesome. I'm just worried it will take away 100 to 200 hours of my time. Maybe I need that kind of break. I'm sure the 16$ it will cost me is a lot cheaper than a lot of other things I would be doing then.

I've only watched a single episode so far but I thought they are doing a good job! I am curious to see where they will take it. While the game obviously has a main story, I think that one of the things I enjoy is the freedom to pursue general bounties and just live the life as the Witcher. While not great for a narrative show, I wonder if they'll incorporate some of those elements.

I do think the fighting is pretty impressive as well because it feels similar to the videogame mechanics but is also realistic, which is nice.

I think it is trying to tie in the strands of events leading up to the start of Witcher 3. It is really great and it makes the viewer really think instead of signposting everything. I just finished the season, and I am HYPED for the next season!

Hey @bengy, a little off topic here but what was that website you talked about that was a subscription gaming type thing? thanks.

No problem, it's the Humble Bundle that I think you are talking about? I can't remember the exact details at the moment, but you pay a monthly fee each month (around 12usd?) and you get games to keep, discounts on the store and also access to a special library of games.

They recently changed the exact conditions, but I have the legacy subscription. I think the new one is still pretty good (but the legacy is better!)

Here is the link, with a referral code.
