The price of BTC skyrocketed to new all-time highs, while the price of SBD didn't follow.
At the time of writing this, the SBD sits at 0.875 US$ on bittrex.
(I don't use poloniex' price at all, because they have disabled STEEM and SBD again. )
This brought the issue to my attention.
I'm trying to help maintain the peg and have updated my witness to signal a 4% interest rate on SBD.
With an increased APR I hope we can encourage the market to hold SBD.
I have also started buying SBD for STEEM from the internal market, but I don't have a lot of funds available for this. If the price keeps declining, I will start powering down and buy up more SBD from the market.
On a sidenote:
To decrease the supply of SBD, I would encourage everybody to consider voting for promoted posts again, since the promotion costs will be 'burned' and taken off the market.
Please also consider promoting your own posts with SBD to stabilize the price.
Let's hope that poloniex will fix the issue and active SBD again!

To be honest, I am happy the price stayed pretty much the same cause I just invested 0.3 btc and I am sure steem will explode sooner or later :D.

Yes, the promotion cost will be transfered to @null and burned.
I'm thinking we should encourage the burning of SBD to decrease the supply.
However, since I wrote the post, the price of SBD seems to have stabilized.
I didn't find many voteable posts in promoted but thought I'd try to encourage it anyways.

You are doing a great job, which I applaud, but as I suggested on numerous occasions, in the last couple of months, the price of Steem will be getting lower, as there is less and less money laundering related to WCrypt. In fact, this the only reason why Steem went up to begin with - you can closely relate the spread of this ransomware with the boom of all crypto prices.
Currently Bitcoin is up, as traders perceive it as a refuge, just as gold (or silver, copper and palladium, which skyrocketed beyond everyone's expectations) in times of political insecurity. Britain's exit from the EU, the German elections and the problems related to North Korea (dragging down the confidence in USD, JPY and CNY) all attribute to BTC's high prices.
My suggestion is to keep your fingers crossed that there's another ransomware breakout, otherwise Steem will hit rock bottom, as it did last year. At least all the spammers will be out of here, right? :)
