Haven't sat down to write an actual witness update in quite some time. We're not exactly getting a warm welcome from the bigger voters and smaller voters chat with me on a regular basis, enough for me to update them on whatever is going on.
And to be honest with all of you, the best advice I got when launching the witness was a comment from someone who'll remain anonymous who said to me: "I just want to know what they're doing without having to read every post of theirs". So all in all, if you don't know what we're doing without having to read these updates, we're fucking up something hardcore.
Technical
Since our last update:
- Shared memory and VM memory quotas were increased to 50GB
- Pulled and compiled latest stable branch code
- Ubuntu OS updates applied
Time Well Spent
I've personally mainly been dealing with phishing over the last month. It's a pretty thankless and grueling task that matters to minnows, particularly those who misclicked and got hacked, but not so much to anyone else.
- Wallet message script written
- Runs in multifecta format, currently to notify users to change their password if they've been phished
- Keeps messages grouped in one transaction rather than spamming with individual transfers
Highlighters/Curators
They're getting rewritten and modified this week to account for our lack of a full private node. Once work is completed we'll publish a separate update on them. Unfortunately everyone will have to wait until then.
- The two highlighters purely stream the blockchain now
- Manually triggered
- @shadow3scalpel and the Minnows Freedom Project bots will see some work this week -- the MFP one has been down for a bit and should be up soon
Community
We're delegating 100 SP to sponsor a minnow for @ssg-community and will delegate @50 SP to sponsor another minnow for the new version of @silvergoldbotty starting next month. This month we're letting the blocks catch up some as we're low on SP and need the slider to curate.

Onboarding
Accounts for new users are intermittently created, with a solid effort to onboard army veterans in order to build a strong supportive community here where freedom of speech is paramount. Particularly at a time where all the non-NWO types are being run off from the popular social media platforms. Our latest invite from Twitter is @thecrustyoldvet.
Delegations
These aren't going anywhere where we profit off them personally or anywhere we get paid for delegating. They never have and never will. All delegations are given freely and for free. I think that's pretty clear.

That's great work...but Steemit accounts cannot STOP the basic Steemit predator from ruining an article with abusive hate speech. There needs to be a simple mechanism for disabling comments...other wise Steemit is still in the dark ages...Here's an example:

Frank Bacon is allowed to call a female blogger all sorts of sick names in the comments and it can't be stopped. Bernie & followers would be doing me a favor by flagging all of my posts so that the 'comments' and/or post disappears. Bacon created a 'rape' mess and creating content is not possible. Whether you agree with the content or not...
I'm pretty sure with the upcoming Communities feature you'll be able to moderate comments as well.
