I completely agree with your post. A few days ago when I heard the news about crypto ads banned on FB, I thought right away that Zucki might be already organizing his own crypto. I had been mentoring newbies since I joined Steemit in June 2017 and intended to give ads on FB so that more would register. When I read the news on the banning, I thought of just one thing, FB would be a threat to Steemit. I have a follower of about 4.6K + on my FB page called Challenging Arts & Crafts and I posted an invitation to my followers to join a platform not mentioning steemit in my content. I hope some would inquire and join us... It was sort of a way to test whether some would be interested at all.
The way upvoting is going on right now on steemit, the flagging and downvoting of whales within each other is really damaging the eco system of steemit...I was asking myself, if these whales could just bring it to upvote planktons, redfish and minnows... it would mean so much to them and would go on making good contents instead of being discouraged to stop writing. A friend of mine who made her intro post had been downvoted by a steemit employee because she used the wrong tag... from 38 to rep of 9 for her 2nd post. I made a shout-out calling whales and about 4 whales lifted-up her spirits and replied with an upvote that made her rep to climb at 49. My friend is a good writer, I mean really good and from that incident on and a couple of contents, she simply stopped writing...
The big whales should reconsider their behaviors and start thinking of steemit futures... because in the end , they are the ones that would suffer so much from the upcoming losses if really FB defines its status in the blockchain.
