Dear fellow Steemians and Tasteemers,
Today, We’re proud to announce this great news that in 13th of November, @tasteem has successfully created its first block as a Steem witness node. As a witness, Tasteem has a few visions that may bring great benefit to the entire Steem community and would like to share them with you. But before that, please let us briefly introduce what we have achieved since our launch in May.
- Over 16,000 great restaurant reviews have been created by our users.
- Over 3,100 users have been connected to Tasteem via SteemConnect
- More than $76,000 have been rewarded to the users so far
Not bad, isn’t it? Especially when considering the crypto market for the last few months. These numbers would never have reached this high if we hadn’t seen your great support for Tasteem. Thanks to you all, we really mean it.
So, back to the witness issue.
We all remember what happened at the end of last year when everyone was so crazed about all this bitcoin fuss. Well, it was a serious deal, at least in South Korea. In KR back then, every mainstream media was talking about it and you’d be a fool if you weren’t trading. The Korean market reacts and adapts to such events very quickly and there have been so many crypto enthusiasts who wish to invest with just one good reason since then. That explains the huge money influx into the crypto market from Korea in such a short period of time.
Sad thing is, KR community does not blend in really well with the rest of the world, mostly because of the language barrier. And this can also be found in Steemit.
According to Alexa, South Korea ranks in second for website traffic in steemit, and the steemit post count for ‘kr’ related tags hits at least 130,000 as of November `18. These numbers are definitely far from trivial, thanks to @clayop for helping to build the community to this level.
On the other side, there are so many great projects on Steem blockchain globally and they’ve been already adding so much value to the ecosystem. But, the involvement level we’ve seen from KR community to most of these dApps is far from what it’s supposed to be, considering the size of the audience.
As we said, the language is a big drawback. But besides the language issue, we thought we could do more to add values to Steem.
Tasteem is a project backed by a legitimate company called Culturehero Inc., based in South Korea. We are also considering an SMT launch in the near future when Steem is forked with the new feature next year. Due to this background, our company has great connections with crypto firms in KR, and that includes big-name exchanges plus blockchain incubators.
Crypto industry in KR have more than enough resources to take us to where we aim for. That being said, we want to build a bridge between projects on Steem and the blockchain industry so we could provide resources the Steem dApps require to establish their goals successfully, also familiarizing themselves with the audience in KR community.
DApps are the ones directly facing the problems Steem blockchain has and are very sensitive with the issues regarding the usability of Steem blockchain. We strongly believe in order to build a robust Steem ecosystem, DApps have to thrive first and turn themselves into witnesses like ourselves.
Please vote for Tasteem as a witness. We have the resource and ability to contribute to the Steem blockchain so it can climb up another level. We all believe Steem has great potential and that’s why we all care. Thank you.

Very good News, I was always wondering why the korean developers are not more present here on Steem. I hope that you will bridge the gap between these cultures.
Great news🎉
we are inviting Tasteemers to promote Tasteem for witness. Many of them are starting to write a promo-post to support Tasteem.
🍀🍀🍀
Thank you for the great news,
Done with my upvote, I will have to tell all my friends in Tasteem-Th to know about it.
Do you have some details on how tasteem avoids the problem of fake reviews using Steem? I see your post says it paid out 76k$, Who paid that out and how much do you think they made/saved from the expenses ?

I don't like that you're running for witness by bragging about the money that Steemit inc allowed you to hand over from the reward pool.
What criteria do you use to qualify as "Great" those 16000 review?
Keep up the good work and an upvote from me!
@tasteem has my support and vote as a witness.
