RE: A new witness reporting for duty! | Update #1.

Do you have any thoughts about what to do about the price feed in light of Poloniex vs. Bittrex volume? For example:

Some suggest that Poloniex is faking these volumes. Since it's only a theory, should this theory be reflected in witness price feed?

Sort:

@inertia yeah there are many stories about the "poloniex does not allow steem withdrawls" lately,And ever since it all started, people have lost some money transfering steem and a few other alts, which is not good for business...but yet there are still alot of users who has been using Polonie for some time now,and still do their transfers regulary without worrying to move to bittrex or any other exchange....Its still possible to deposit steem or SBD and withdraw the rewards via exchanging for onother crypto currency...It could possibly be a scam, but with the recent price spikes and Seeing that steem is generally still in a upward trend and busy getting adopted by users,I say these prices should be streemed by witnesses...I do think that most people are already on the verge of moving their steem and SBD funds to bittrex, instead of holding on using Polonie.

On the other hand,
Seeing that polonie has been around a long time, and the recent bad reports posted about them...it ruins the trading for users of steem, causing a lot of disruptions...and this is not good for the adoption of steem(it).

Yep, but do you consider these stories as relevant to your price feed?

I dont consider my price feeds to be revelant to these stories...Im running a automated script to update my price feed according to these exchanges, but realized that if a false story or price manipulation might happen my witness will feed this :/

That makes sense. It's best to operate on evidence.
