New Witnesses
No new witnesses
607 Witnesses but only around 20% is active? I don't know if that's a good news or not but shouldn't each of them has something for the benefit of steem blockchain?
By active I go by if they produced a block in the last 7 days. Newer witnesses may not fit this restriction while still remaining a witness.
What is a motivating factor to vote for a witness that we have to write-in? How could a write-in be a better choice to vote for, than the top ones that we can see? Is the only way to rise in the ranks, "campaigning" for votes? Thanks!
You want to vote for people you believe are good for Steem and competent to do the job required of a witness. Sometimes they are not the ones in the top 50.
I think I've voted for 5 now, and a couple weren't in the top 50. But the only way I got a clue to vote for the under 50 ones was seeing them and other suggesting for people to vote for them. I honestly don't think I know, myself, what their job is. I mean, I've read the description of what they do, but I have no idea what it actually entails. Is it just having a look at something, and if nothing seems odd, they pass it and it's done? or do they do it by the block or something? The numbers that they do is really high, and it almost would seem too intensive an operation for most?
I'm probably 180 off on everything I just wrote. 😓
