A woman lived without money for 20 years.

Check: Heidemarie Schwermer found out that humans have become too materialistic. She moved out of her condominium, gave away nearly all of her stuff, and decided to perform a bit test: live without coins for three hundred and sixty five days. She helped human beings in trade for food and housing. She didn’t use public shipping and carried the most important topics and garments in a small bag.

Result: Heidemarie lived without cash for two decades. with the aid of her very own example, she proved that money isn't always the maximum vital detail in the global. for decades, she became a public speaker and a everyday visitor on tv indicates.

Yeah and thats true.

Ms. Schwermer spoke at TEDxReset in Instanbul sharing her experiences.

(the circular art on the photo serves as an emblem people with her same goals and way of life can identity each other in public as strangers)

She began her journey early and managed to turn it into a way of life.

No doubt, she has missed out on tons of technology. Clearly, she doesn’t need it. It never was part of her.

BUT....

does she use a cellphone? That’s eating at me.

Relying only on her ingenuity and resourcefulness in addition to that of her fellow minimalists seems extremely challenging.

Her description of life as she experienced it has an all too familiar ring of a utopian fantasy. I’m not sure if her struggles as a child or her adulthood pushed her in this direction or perhaps she was just tired of the struggle of being another person wading their way through crowd after crowd of consumers.

To me, it’s way too extreme.

More power to her, though. Find her video on YouTube.
