I think I look more like her as the years go by. I used to look way more like my dad.
Now, as to emigrating from the USSR, there are a few factors. One was that it was, in a way, an escape. But there's also the factor of it happening in 1971. With no internet, without knowing almost anyone here, no way to prepare for the move in any real sense. The world was much bigger, then.
