Medieval times has recently rewritten its show to empower women and girls. For the past 34 years the Dinner and Tournament show was headed by predominantly male roles. But are you really surprised ? >_>
The new shift in leadership hasn't come without controversy. Some people ( predominantly males ) have expressed a great deal saltiness .
Here is a direct quote from a guy (I'll leave his name out for obvious reasons ) : " Not being funny. I’m all for women having a place equal to men. But, Replacing the king for this girl power thing. It’s silly. What next. A movie that has Moses played by a woman? I mean Ghostbusters got ruined with this silly thinking. Now star wars most powerful Jedi is a woman. "
Here's a quote from a woman copied from the same forum:
"I mean historically speaking there weren’t really any women who were powerful during medieval times because women were just kinda... objects. Im all for women empowerment. But I’ve been to Medieval Times several times and I’ve not once looked at it and thought, “Wow. I wish there was a queen so I could feel strong and empowered.” There are plenty of real life and fictional people already who are wonderful examples to young girls about empowerment."
Weather you're for it or against it , one fact of life that cant be argued is the fact that "CHANGE IS INEVITABLE"
Looking back on how far we have come as a society makes that point very clear. Its kinda funny thinking how there was time in history when black people couldn't vote. Needless to say those days are over, Im very exited to see how much positive change we see in the next 10 years.
