We sent this beautiful reclaimed wood trestle table to its new home recently. With reclaimed wood floors and ship lap walls we almost felt like Clint Harp delivering a table to Joanna Gaines on a Fixer Upper episode. This table definitely finished off this dining room perfectly. The wood for this table came from the floor joists of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in downtown Athens, Ga. The church was built in the 1870's, which means that this wood is around 145 years old! We love being able to salvage wood from historic buildings and give the wood a new life. It would have been a shame to see this incredible wood get tossed into the landfill!!!
Stunning! I do wonder though, why only 1 bench?
Thanks! The client wanted to do chairs on the other side and on the heads of the table. That seems to be a popular option these days. Thanks for stopping by and for the comment!
I'm in the process of building a table for my house and plan to do a bench on one side and chairs on the other. Bench is for kids, chairs for adults (or big kids). With 5 kids myself, it is a lot easier to fit them all on a bench together.
Yes that is typically what we see people doing. You can fit a lot of kids on a bench! Haha! 👍🏻
Beautiful. Really nice stuff, man!
Thanks!!!
