Wide door for Wheelchair access

in #woodworking7 years ago

Two farms up from where I live sits a beautiful country wedding venue and it so happens that I am friend's with the owner. This wedding venue had just constructed new guest rooms (22 extra rooms) and two of these rooms were designed to accommodate paraplegics but, the material they were getting in was all bought from the local hardware store therefore the standard door and frame were too narrow for these rooms. So the owner asked me to make two doors and frames for the widened room entrances.

Real nice job. It looks great! I had a problem a while back getting a 48" door and ended up having to build one, but I'd rather build something than buy it anyways😉. Cheers

Thanks. Constructing a door or anything from wood is very satisfying. I am still quite new to carpentry and have many more projects I will be trying.
