I think you also call it london plane over there, right, or maybe maple? This is american sycamore, or maybe Arizona sycamore, not sure. No special drying for these slabs. Twisted, checked, spalted and punky. Surprise I even got a few boards from it.

They are all from the acer family I think. English sycamore is snow white and has to have the ends sealed and then needs to be stood upright. I thought yours looked like london plane , which is a bit different. I made some wall panelling with quartered london plane that was framed in oak. It looked like fire when it was finished. I will try and find a photo at some point.
