Fortunately we have many friends and therefore we always get asked if we can do something............, something with furniture or stuff they have, that needs a bit or a lot of attention.
Well, this time it's a side table for sanding - the initial plan - but it never works out like that. Reality was sanding of the stain, sanding the whole surface getting the band saw marks out (yes, that's how stuff is built here), cutting legs to same length and finally screwing the table top square on to the base. Sanding we said, right...........
With other hardwoods it's always a pleasure to see the original wood appearing underneath the paint, varnish or what ever was used to hide it. Mango is a bit different, you have to like it and look at the details, it's a wood with lots of colouration.
We did our best on that piece of furniture to expose the original wood and its grain and finished it with a few coats of anteak oil.
