In the USA, there is a lot of talk these days about the nature of work. I read a good thinker article today in which the stark phrase "fuck work" was a major attention drawer. I am in major favor of this sort of rewriting, redlining, redefining. These actions have to start in the richest country, where the complexities have reached a crescendo. The above photo is from Chennai, India in 2019. "Fuck work" is not close to a mantra that chicken raisers like that can harbor, unless of course they have aspirations to street living.
That said, it is a sad fact that a large segment of Americans are not too far from the streets, too. Which is crazy considering the amount of money that is awash within the US borders. "Fuck work" is very much a harbor-able mantra for Americans. It is so easy to see the how the older paradigms of work are bullshit. There is a wave crest appearing, couple white caps in the seas. Soon, as apparent by Andrew Yang's vision essentially becoming mainstream, or close to it, the economy and an individual's role in are on the cusp of redefinition. It has to happen. Nearly all workers in the current iteration of the economy are just more complex extensions of the same species of worker dirtily raising chickens in Chennai; we need to evolve into a new species or bust.
