As I mentioned in my intro post, I work at a cruise ship traveling between Turku and Stockholm. Since I might post quite a few pictures of my magnificent work-views I thought it might be nice to explain a bit more about what I actually do on this big piece of metal floating around in the ocean.
So this is what I do: I am a youth activities counselor, which means that my main task is to organize and lead activities for children and adolescents. I work every second week, spending one week straight on the boat and then one week at home. I organize and hold activities such as face painting, disco, bingo, escape room, arts and crafts, different tournaments and also some interactive plays.
In the interactive play this year the kids get to help two incompetent detectives and Harri (my big, white fluffy friend, and also the mascot of the company I work for) in their struggle to find Harris lost teddy bear. ^_^

Harri also has two friends from the Moomin Valley that like spending time here at the cruise ship. Tomorrow I will hang out with Little My for a while, I might post a picture of her as well. If she is in a good mood, she is usually a bit grumpy...

Stockholm is really nice! Sadly we are only there for one hour every morning so I don't have time to visit the city, only for a short run or walk if I'm awake early enough. I like your posts! Followed you as well :)

Trondheim and a little of Oslo too. Some mountains and the island known as Hitra. Very interesting and everyone treated me well. :D
I bet it was beautiful, I have actually never been to Norway but I would love to go there! The nature is quite different from Finland and Sweden
Hey, I've been to Trondheim! I loved it there. Did you take the overnight train from Oslo, too? I went hiking there and enjoyed the nature so much. Kayaking was great there, too!

I guess you could apply for a job at a cruise ship (or other ship) departing from California. But I don't know what prerequisites there are in US for working at a ship. Good luck with school! Do you have any tips on places to visit in California since I'm moving to Long Beach in August? ☀

Thank you! :) Glad you enjoyed Stockholm! Escape rooms are really cool and fun to organize! The journey from Turku to Stockholm takes about 10,5 hours, we do a cruise there and back in 23 hours, so not much time to spend in Stockholm sadly.

It is a really nice job even though it sometimes can feel ruff to go to work and not be able to go home for a week. Other than that I love it :)
So...like...where do you guys sleep...as far as the crew. You guys sleep in the cabins as well?
Yeah we also sleep in the cabins! There is a special area for the crew, but since I don't work there full time all year I sleep in the cabins in the area where the passengers sleep.
