Yes,there are two places like this.
The First Is Marie Byrd Land In West Antarctica. It's so far away that no government seems to want it.
It occupies a very wide area on the earth. The Antarctic coastline extends from the South Pole to the Antarctic coastline, with a surface area of 1,610,000 square kilometers. It's bigger than Iran or Mongolia. But living is so unfit that the only permanent base in the region belongs to the United States.Marie Byrd land, the name of the Tuğmiral Richard E. Byrd's wife.Richard E. Byrd (1888-1957) discovered this place in 1929.This research station at one end of the world was inspired by John Carpenter's classic horror film The Thing / thing (1982).
The rest of Antarctica is governed by the Antarctic Treaty system established by 12 nations in 1961.This Treaty protected the continent as a scientific field and forbade any military activity there. The largest areas are under the control of the nations that first discovered the continent (England,Norway,France), followed by the nearest ones (New Zealand,Australia,Chile,Argentina).Beyond Marie Byrd land, the ocean extends to the Southern Pacific, where no country is near enough to deserve it.
