Hey dear Hiveans and friends of travelling, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my latest contribution and also wish you a positive start into the new week! In this article I would like to present a breathtaking architectural work that I visited during my time in Prague.
It doesn't matter whether I should call it abstract or even bizarre, but one thing is clear, the dancing house in Prague is an absolutely unique masterpiece that people don't get to see so often. The house was built at the end of the 20th century through a collaboration of various architects who had the same ideology to create a building with special recognition value and a special characteristic is that the towers were honoured to the two dancers Fred Astair (1899 - 1987) and Ginger Rogers (1911 - 1995) and are associated with their art. Behind the dancing house hides an even deeper symbolism and the architects also wanted to express the principle of duality as is noticeable in the two sexes of the dancers and these different contrasts are probably one of the most important characteristics of the building which was designed by Vlado Milunić (1941 - 2002) and the still living Frank Gehry. The prehistory of the house is rather sad and once stood here a house that was destroyed during times of war and for a long time, it was considered a place of disaster and stood empty for decades until the architects brought new wind into the whole and decided to create their new work here and after only a few years, the building was already standing which was mainly created from the materials steel, glass and concrete.
The construction was not easy and some things probably went differently than planned, but this was no reason for the creators to give up and even if the construction plans had to be changed several times, the house finally stood in 1996 and has been attracting thousands of visitors every year ever since. Even if the order was not quite easy to fulfil, a high budget of several million dollars was provided with which the artists could work freely and even today the building is still actively used and there are some rooms in which offices are located and also a part was designed for tourism and in addition to a viewing platform, there is also the possibility to consume food or coffee there. Although it's a more modern building compared to other sights, it has developed into one of the most famous buildings in Prague, which is near the Vltava and can definitely be worth visiting and can also be easily reached by public transport.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about this topic! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

I’m glad to hear that you like my post :) It’s probably true, it’s also one of the most abstract modern buildings I’ve seen so far.

At first sight, I actually love the building. I initially thought it was just another fancy building built by a billionaire, but then, reading through, I can't help it but take a deep breath.
It's a wonderful building. The story behind the building is also bizarre
True, it’s a really interesting story that hides behind the building :)
