Hey dear community, first of all I would like to wish everyone a great start into the new weekend and hope you are doing well so far! In this post I would like to share a slightly different experience which I made during my visit to Prague and I am happy if you like my contribution.
In Prague I have decided to visit a slightly different museum which is about torture as well as the instruments that have been used in the past and first of all I would like to issue a small trigger warning that this material which is shown in this post can maybe trigger negative reactions in sensitive people! This creepy museum is located in the mediaeval part of Prague not far from the castle and together with figures and old tools that have become collected over time, the history and methodology of torture are discussed in more detail and with the right light as well as sound effects, this dark theme is authentically expressed in this museum. In Europe it's one of the largest museums of torture which contains an amazingly large collection with over a hundred different tools and the figures exhibited there are really extremely realistic and have been probably made of wax and it's almost as if the path would take you to another time and my visit there took about an hour and it's rather smaller museum compared to others.
During the Middle Ages, torture was often used to punish people or to get information from them and to achieve this goal, tools were created which were specially used for this purpose and depending on the tool, people were tortured more gently or strongly and during the visit it's shown how these tools were used exactly and in addition there were some illustrations as well as texts that go into more detail. Well-known tools that were used for this are thumb screws, wheels, whips, cages and other things that should torture the victims physically or psychologically and depending on the severe that someone should be punished and the task was taken over by special servants or torturers who acted on behalf of the rulers. Most of the time, the torture served the sense of punishment, but there were always people in history who tortured other people out of pure arbitrariness and the torture is not only widespread in the European Middle Ages, but can be seen worldwide and who is more interested in how quickly people become torturers, I can recommend to deal with the Milgram experiment in more detail. In conclusion, I would say that this museum may not be recommended for everyone and especially people with weak nerves should perhaps be careful to avoid a visit, but it can really be interesting to learn more about it and also the admission which is under 10$ is fair for what is offered.
On the same evening, I also visited a somewhat creepy bar which I would like to recommend at the end of the article and share pictures of it and the name of this bar is NIGHTMARE Prague Horror Bar and here, the name program and it's a gloomy bar in which some creepy props are set up. Already the entrance of the bar leads the visitors a few floors into a basement where the bar is located in which numerous occult works of art have been set up which are reminiscent of well-known films and also the interior is unique and for the visitors there are many cosy places to choose from and also the employees are really accommodating and friendly. There is a separate menu on which some drinks can be ordered which are oriented to horror and for people who do not drink alcohol, there is the possibility to buy non-alcoholic drinks and it has been a completely different experience which I would like to share in this article. Together with the Alchemist Bar, which I already mentioned in one of my last contributions, I particularly liked these two but I must also say that I have not visited many in this respect and that was not the reason for my visit, but everyone who likes to go to bars in the evening will find some in Prague with different topics such as the Middle Ages or others.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about this exciting city! I captured these pictures with my iPhone 16 and Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

Oh I have been at San Marino torture museum. Those museums are sooo creepeif you think those things were used on other people
Glad to hear that you were also able to visit one of these museums in the past. How large is this one in San Marino?
it's not as big as this one, average size, but a lot of stuff in there, gives chills
Good to know, thanks for the recommendation. If I visit this area in the future, I will think about it.
These types of places are actually worth visiting I must confess to actually explore around
I see it that way too! There are so many interesting things to see everywhere and each country has its own hidden treasures to discover.
After visiting such a place and seeing the old things, one gets a lot more knowledge and also a lot more pleasure about how people used to live in the past.
You have found exactly the right words!

Wao. Horrific museum but very interesting.
That’s probably true, and definitely worth the visit.
