What John Cena Needs to Do Before Leaving WWE (For Good)

in #wrestling8 years ago

John Cena has accomplished much in WWE. Debuting in 2002, John Cena took the Ruthless Aggression Era by storm. Going from the young upstart to the Dr. of Thuganomics, to the Leader of the Cenation and being a 16-time World Champion. John Cena won't be doing this forever and he has done virtually everything a man can do in WWE; however, there are just a few things he needs to do before he calls it quits.

Win the Intercontinental Championship and become a Grand Slam Champion

The Intercontinental Championship is the only one that has eluded Cena during his illustrious career. Winning the Intercontinental Championship would make him the newest Grand Champion, joining Edge, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Big Show, The Miz, Eddie Guerrero, and Kurt Angle. John Cena is without a future Hall of Famer so why not give him these last accolades as well?

Have a meaningful Tag Team title reign

John Cena has had 4 WWE/World Tag Team Championship reigns (Batista, Shawn Michaels, The Miz, and David Otunga) and none of them have meant anything of substance apart from furthering Cena's respective feuds with these Superstars. One thing John Cena needs to do is have a tag reign that is of import as well as taking the opportunity to put an up and comer over.

Superstars John Cena could have a meaningful Tag reign with

  • Apollo Crews
  • Tyler Bate
  • Tye Dillinger

Lose by submission

I know that this is highly unlikely, but hear me out. Now Cena has NEVER lost by submission. Ideally, this would be Cena's retirement match. What better way to put a person over than getting the man who never gives up...to give up? John Cena is this larger than life figure and a simple pinfall victory won't do.

John Cena is surprisingly a very good actor. I'd love to see him in more movies and TV shows.

I would say that is definitely on his list afterwards. I'd love to see that too.
