Growing up, my mum will always tell us after returning from the market which yam is just for eating and which is good for pounding but I always felt it didn't matter, that yam was yam .
One day, Mum came back with some fine tubers of yam and said it wasn't gonna be good for pounding. We boiled the first tuber, it was neat and sweet, so I thought it was gonna be good enough for pounding despite Mum's warning.
I remember pounding that yam with my pounding partner, Bisola. It turned out dark and with lots of sizable lumps.. Trust me, even pounding it to that point was frustrating.
The reason why major relationships fail in this generation isn't our inability to love genuinely but our absurd mentality... Guys have grown to believe that ladies cannot be faithful and ladies believe all guys are cheats... We cheat because we assume our partner does so too. Until we erase this awkward notion and recall the lost trust, we will never tap into the complete package of togetherness..
TRUST BEGINS WITH YOU
Message: It doesn't matter how experienced, skillful or knowledgeable you are about it, NOT ALL YAMS ARE GOOD FOR POUNDED YAM. It doesn't matter if it is sweet and fine when boiled, NOT ALL YAMS ARE GOOD FOR POUNDED YAM.
It doesn't matter how good they look or how sweet they taste , not all yams are good for pounding. The same goes for relationship too. We can't always judge with what we see.
Thanks, you really understand me.
