There's a popular saying that when there's life there's hope..
But sometimes i wonder if there's truly hope?
Even the Bible says in Proverb 13:12 that "hope deferred makes the heart sick but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life"
Until when are we going to wait to see light at the end of the tunnel?
What if there's no light?
What if the tunnel has no end?
I often wonder and ask myself these questions. The thought of wanting something and having to wait for a long time for it to manifest can be draining.
Hope is a combination of wanting and expecting, It is a little bit more than a wishful thinking. More like a feeling that you will get what you are wanting.
There are so many Hope instances:
A jobless person seeking for job opportunities.
A single man/woman seeking for a soulmate.
A barren woman seeking for the fruit of the womb for many years.
A business person greatly affected by the economy and hoping for a change.
Someone who desires to travel.
Our desires and our wants, are things we Hope for. Any kind of personal thing someone wants or desires, if deferred, makes the heart sick.
Have you been believing God for something and it does not seem forthcoming?
You've even fasted and prayed, yet the answer seems delayed.
Have you given up and lost hope that your situation will never improve?
Deferred hope leads to frustration and puts the heart in despair.
But here's the thing, when your expectation is delayed or postponed, keep looking to the Lord:
Psalm 39:7 says, “And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you”
Hebrews 6:19 says, When you place your hope in Christ alone, you won’t be disappointed.
Deferred hope is not denied hope. Psalm 31:24 says,
"Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord."
A delay is not denial. God may seem silent but that doesn’t mean He's far away. God is always at work behind the scenes. Therefore we must not give up.
Together let's keep praying and hoping that Nigeria gets better someday.
