Why a strong man can starve next to a full fridge

in #writing7 years ago (edited)

I'll start with short funny story:    "I'm going to work, I ask my wife:    "Where's my new blue shirt?"    - There.    - Where is there?    - In the room    - "In the bedroom or in the living room?"    - In the bedroom.

I go into the bedroom and open the closet. No shirt.    - It is not here    - It is    - No    - Look in the closet    - I'm looking in the closet. There is no it.    - Look with your eyes open    - There is no it here!

The steps of the wife are heard - this is the sound of inevitability. She goes into the bedroom, соmes to the closet, without looking, she puts her hand inside and pulls out my shirt. A silent look that speaks … She goes out.   I remain with the closet alone. Closet, how I hate you ... And the fridge, too. "

Today, physiological differences do not significantly affect the spheres of activity that men and women can engage in. But at the dawn of humanity it was not so. It was physiology that determined that men were engaged in hunting, and women - in gathering and caring for a home (at that time - a cave).

Hunting and gathering require fundamentally different approaches.

Here is our hunter hunting down the mammoth (if desired, you can replace it with a saber-toothed tiger, a wolf or whatever you like for dinner). He knows the path by which a mammoth usually walks. He knows about where the mammoth should come from. All his attention is focused on this point. Anyone who tries to distract him is an enemy who wants to spoil his hunting and leave him without a mammoth.

A woman-gatherer goes out into a forest clearing. She examines her with a peripheral glance: I take one berries, look at the other, see the third, the fourth appears. The same distribution of attention occurs with other traditional women's pursuits: she simultaneously watches the infants, the elderly, prepares food, watches the fire, etc.

Some historical and literary sources speak of such an element of great generals as the ability to do several things simultaneously. In particular, we are talking about Gai Julius Caesar, Napoleon, Alexander the Great.

It’s funny but, but in fact, if we consider this ability from the point of view of ethological behavior programs, we find that the great generals behaved like ordinary girls in this respect.

The world has changed and we believe that we have evolved. But for nature it's an insignificant period of time. And in our ethological programs nothing has changed significantly. That's why your husband can be annoyed if you try to tell him something while he is jamming or doing somethings (even if he is playing computer game), and your wife is genuinely surprised that you are left hungry, while in the fridge is full of food. Of course, I'm exaggerating a little. Each person can adapt and "pull out" his "inner woman" or "inner man." But at the unconscious level, these programs work quite clearly and their misunderstanding often causes conflicts and irritation in the together life of a man and a woman.

I wish you mutual love and understanding!

We haven't evolved at all, It's our perspectives that's evolved. And I wouldn't say for the better as most people are so confused nowadays, they don't even know what bathrooms to use when out in public. There are two genders and that isn't an opinion or hate speech it's science.

Not only science but life itself:)
