I had the idea to start this contest after reading @iamthegray's thoughts on opening contests, failing, and trying again. You can read his piece here. Thanks Gray.
It would be really helpful if you could resteem this out to your friends but there's no pressure.
Thanks. And good luck!
Anj :)

The rose that grew from rock.
Thanks for this lovely image and story. It says so much about how a tough beginning can result in something beautiful.
This really got me thinking about the benefits and obstacles involved in crossing those bridges, reaching out to new places or people. Great job. Thanks for competing.
My pleasure
Thanks for this. It really made me smile and the ending was such a pleasant surprise.
Now THIS is fiction I can stand behind! I read it all!!!!
Plus, I liked it... solid work Anj!
Cheers
Lol max. So good you get get into the storylines here.

Me too. Wonder I can rustle up some words...
Be strong, cover girls don't cry!
This story goes perfectly with the image you chose. It's a lovely phrase.
That's what I want for Christmas!
This got me wondering whether the photographer wanted the dog for Christmas or whether the dog was looking at something it wanted for a present. Nice work. Thanks for competing.
It's a funny pic. I did not pay attention to composition. Just wanted to catch my dog then there was the hydrant!
Someone is breathing inside the coffin.
This really made me laugh (I'm sick like that :P). It conjured up a great story and them reaching out nearly killed me off. Great job. Thanks for competing.
You laughed at that?? My aim was to give you the creeps...
Great sentiment in this phrase. Yes, life is too short to not give yourself treats. It also made me hungry. Thanks for competing.
OUR Balls Are Bigger! - Canada, eh.
This is so well done and it made me laugh. I love how you've given us an opinion about Canadians and even coloured it with one of their colloquialisms, eh. Great job. Thanks for competing.
I took this picture while I was on safari over the summer during my time in Tanzania. It was awesome.
Lovely image of the lioness and goes well with the phrase you chose. Thanks for competing.
Thank you. There were actually 16 of them in the middle of tracking down 2 zebra when we found them. Then the safari driver's radioed other trucks and after a few minutes like 10 trucks were there and spooked the zebra and they got away.
I wrote a really good one, but this contest is over. I still need to capture the picture, maybe you will have another contest like this?
Either way, what a creative restriction on a story! Only six words is tough ;p
Hiya Eco. The good news is that the new contest started today. Yay. Here's the link to the six-word story contest #2.
Good luck :D
After all, She still loves him.
Ah, this is a lovely story about a girl contemplating a lost love. Thanks for competing.
Thank you for acknowledging my work.
@moneyinfant has added your contest to the list Steemit Writing Contests: Issue #26. The list is updated on a daily basis and your contest will remain on the list until its expiration - there's nothing you need to do.
The list was created to save writers the excessive amount of time spent searching through the #contest tag for writing contests. Now they can just come to the list each day, see new contests and use their time doing what they love - writing.
If you'd like to help spread the word about the Steemit Writing Contest List I'd really appreciate a resteem, but it certainly isn't necessary. The project is simply meant to help writers save time and contest creators attract more contestants.
P.S. If you know of any contests I've missed I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!
This grave message says it all
I wonder about the lifestyle this deceased person had. They obviously had a great sense of humour. I've seen this before though. Best to use your own work in competitions.
Awsome contest 😉 love this!
Thank you for 15 years Together ❤️
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous image of your beloved cat. You story hints at a long and loving relationship.
I better put my shoes on.
This really made me smile. What a great image. The story makes me wonder what sort of world this narrative occupies and what external pressure is causing the cow to better put its shoes on.
Treasuring the eternity of her love.
This conjured up feelings of sadness. You really picked a good image to go with this phrase. Thanks for competing.
Dear @anjkara
If it's OK, I've included your Six-word story competition in my article about the various Steem contests here
My own entry is further down the comments section - it is quite sad though :(
Thank you @doctoryak. I appreciate that. I'll be looking at all the entries when the contest is finished. So many great ones so far. Aaargh how am I to choose?
cheers
Anj :D
Losing myself to love that hurts
This conjures up the devastation of disintegrating in a destructive relationship. Great job.
I miss the taste of freedom.
This conjured up a story of someone whose life has taken a turn for the worse (or like I felt when I was married :P). Great story. Thanks for competing.
True, it was all a mistake.
This really conjured up the imagination and we can guess at the shenanigans that caused the jeans to be open (or is it my dirty mind?). If it were just after Christmas, these could be the jeans that just wouldn't go back on and that extra helping of cake was the mistake. Thanks for competing.
Este concurso esta interesante... tantas imágenes para inspirarse. Es todo un reto decir un gran sentimiento en solo 6 palabras... Bien por tí @anjkara

I probably shouldn’t of done that!
I LOVED this so much. It's so dark and so funny. I wonder about all the events that could've led up to this statement. If only the image... :D
The fish just disappeared...all gone.
What a beautiful, yet sad tale. It has so many layers for so few words. Thanks for competing.

This is a great story. It conjured up all kinds of imaginings. I wondered whether her baby is an actual baby or whether it was her 'baby' as in lover. Great job. Thanks for competing.
Thanks
Glad you got that 'baby' part
Cheers

She was soldering a bridge for teeth and the patient was due in the morning.
I assure you, I got it!
Winner!

Green. Orange. Brown. Leap and crunch.
I loved the sensuality of this. A feast for the eyes (colour) and the ears (crunch) and the exhilaration of leaping. It gave me a sense of optimism. Great job. Thanks for competing.
Shine bright! Light up my world.
What a pretty, uplifting statement, coupled with a cheerful sunflower. Thanks for competing.
Reality: Face' smiling but heart's aching..
This really made me wonder about the main character and how we're often forced to wear a mask to avoid dealing with what's going on underneath the surface. Great job. Thanks for competing.
BitConnect! What could possibly go wrong?
Haha. This really made me smile. It's so current and relevant to our audience here. Great job. Thanks for competing.
Hello dear @anjkara,

What a heart-wrenching story this represents. It reminds me of an old story about a dog that wouldn't leave its owner's grave. So touching. Great job on referencing the image source too. Awesome.
Thanks Anj!
IF SHE HAD HER FATHER'S NAME
This story really tugged at the heartstrings. I wondered about her life and why her father wasn't around to make sure she lived a better life. Great job. Thanks for competing.
This was now her new home.
This made me wonder about where she'd been before and how she'd come to be living in this new home. Nice work. Thanks for competing.
Thank you for creating the contest, it was fun to participate;0)
@anjkara started a contest, you know ?
