A question about steem/SBD?

in #writinglast year

Both me and my father have been holding on to some steem and SBD for a while hoping to cash out in the future at some point and SBD is up close to $5 right now, so I spent a few hours last night looking around and I couldn't find any exchanges in the U.S. that support steem or SBD?

Does anyone know of any way to cash out steem/SBD? Or do I have to wait and hope a new exchange opens up that supports such or is it very possibly just a lost cause? Kinda discouraged and frustrated that we didn't cash out sooner after the fork to Hive. :/

Thanks for the info. I looked it up and it has a lot of bad reviews... People claim it's not an official exchange and it's also not in the U.S. and that it has very low trading volume, so... I dunno. I appreciate the info though.

Ionomy is commonly used by latin american users, it doesn't have a huge volume but buy and sell orders often completed, ofc if you want to trade a big quantity you should find another option. You are welcome and good luck

Thanks for the additional info and good luck.
I will consider it.

Hey @apolymask! long time no see. Eh bro? :)

Well mate, I think you still might use Upbit, Huobi, HitBTC, Binance, or even our very well regarded Orinoco.io local exchange to try to cash out your Steem & SBD.

Check these out. Especially our own @orinoco exchange. And if one of these proved to be useful for you to resolve your situation, then later you can send me a tip or something. Hahahaha

Hey! Longtime indeed. I actually checked all of those except for Orinoco and they all had their U.S. exchanges shut down in recent times... I also checked Orinoco after you mentioned it and it looks like that is not in the U.S. either... I'm a bit hesitant to try any exchanges not in the U.S. as I feel there will be no recourse if something goes wrong. :/ Thanks for the info though! I'll think about it. Hope you've been well!
