Attention to Detail

in #writing2 months ago (edited)

One of the cool things about life is noticing certain details... Like the branches of trees moving in the wind or the sound of water moving down a creek or the feeling of rain dropping on your skin.

There was a time these things were novel for all of us, yet many of us have become so accustomed to such and so consumed with modern day life that we tend to sort of... Almost "ignore" so many of these simple sorts of things in order to focus attention on societal constructs and hyper stimulating forms of entertainment like movies and video games etc.

Sometimes I think just watching the plants and branches moving in the wind is more amazing than any Hollywood movie... And... I've found in recent years and especially recent months and days that the art of paying attention to detail is like the art of listening to the Universe and the more you listen to the Universe the more you can learn and find and enjoy so many profound things.

By simply starting with appreciating the simple things like walking barefoot in the dirt or listening to the birds chirp or watching the stars at night I have ended up following a spiritual sort of path to discover what is so amazing that I never thought I would really discover such.

Start small, notice the small details and you may end up finding a path which leads to a large, amazing and abundant place metaphorically speaking that so many countless others walked right past and never even "noticed".

So I could say that seeing is not the same as observing, when we observe we realize some details that we see even daily and we leave them aside, leading a quieter life is something complicated nowadays, the days go by very quickly, the months too, look, this month is already ending, daily chores do not allow us to enjoy something as simple as seeing the movement of the branches of the trees but if we stop to see it we can thank GOD for something so simple .

I agree with everything you've said. And... Well said.
I do think observe and see can sort of be used synonymously, but I get your point and... A lot of times the eyes "see", but the brain doesn't recognize and "observe" certain details.
But, yes things are so complex now it really is amazing to be reminded of the very simple and instrinsic things!
