The meat was great. Sam didn't say one word too many about it's quality. Mike ate it like it was heaven made.
Is this from that store you were talking about? This is magical. It's melting in my mouth. We should buy meat there more often.
Sandy wondered if she should talk about her conversation with Sam, but after thinking it over, she decided it was better not to.
How would she explain the story. A line of family drama with a woman, never seen, who was claiming the house her brother lived in, and that was supposed to be this house. No, better have another drink and keep her eyes open and try to find more about this story. Maybe a library somewhere here could give her answers. Sam was a nice man, but his story confused her. When did this start. Who is that brother? Who is that woman, The housekeeper and could she actually be Margary's mother?
Sandy was looking at Mike while he was enjoying his meat.
How about getting some more of that tomorrow? She asked.
Sounds great, Mike replied with a mouth full of meat, sorry, this is so great.
Maybe I'll try some porc tomorrow, how about some ribs?
Sounds good, along with some more of this great beer. What is it? Dutch?
No, Sam said it's Belgian, he said it's the best he can get.
Tell Sam he's right if you will. There goes my diet, he laughed.

The next morning Sandy drove back to Sam to get some fresh meat and the beer Mike loved so much. Sam was happy to see her.
How was the meat? Did your guy love it?
He wanted to marry it, Sandy joked. He sent me back to get some more fresh meat, and the beer was great he said. It was Belgian, right?
As Belgian, as it gets. It's the best beer there is. Not too dark, not too light, just as God intended , Sam smiled.
Can I ask you something Sam? Sandy asked.
Sure, you may ask anything you want.
That story you told me and that mother, nobody ever saw her, could it be an imaginary mother? Is the story, the story Margary tells, or is it a common tale?
It's a bit of both Sandy. The story of the killings and drownings, they are common. It's the tale everybody knows. The tale of the mother however, that's a bit different. Some say she doesn't exist, and some say that the woman has been the housekeeper since the beginning. Margary said it's her mother, but nobody here can confirm that. We don't even know if she is really a woman or not. That's the mystery I guess.
Could it be that they invented her Sam?
Well, I guess there was a housekeeper in the story of the first killing, and there's a version that every killing started with an affair of the man of the house with a housekeeper. That's rather strange. There seems to be found a picture in the house in the beginning. It was the picture of a woman nobody had ever seen before. Some think that she is the housekeeper that caused all the killings. I haven't seen it, but in the library in the centre of the village, there are some really old newspapers. Maybe there's something I don't know. I'm not an expert. I don't fancy creepy stories about ghosts and hauntings too much.

Sandy looked around the library. Man it was big. And old. Really old. It must be hundreds of years old, Sandy figured. Then she heard a squeeky voice and turned around like bitten by a snake.
Are you looking for something special misses?
Sandy looked right into the eyes of an old lady. Looks like she works here since day one, my God she was old, Sandy thought.
Well, I'm looking for old newspapers maybe.
Maybe? Are you looking for them, or not? The old woman asked surprised.
No sorry, I'm looking for them. I'm looking for information about a murder in the house near the lake.
A murder? You mean the haunted house of Neville, my dear. It's a very old story, and I must dissapoint you. There are no papers about them here.
Sandy looked at her. No papers? I guess a murdercase in this small village would be huge news?
Oh it is, my love, but all the papers are burned in an attempt to stop the haunting. Why are you so curious. Are you a writer?
Sandy smiled. No Miss, I'm not. I live there.
The old lady turned white as a sheet.
I'm afraid I can't help you, if you will excuse me, and hurry up, we are about to close for the rest of the day.
Close? It's the midst of day. Sandy said surprised.
You heard me, bye misses.
