Earthquake

There are earthquakes that changed the surface of the earth, that leave new mountains or lakes that was never there before. New cracks for tiny lifeforms to peer through and have the chance to grow. In the debris, a strange beauty washed on the aftermath, as if a form of art have been discovered. Aftershocks echoed like the beat of the very earth, humming to a tune it was so familiar of.

We once thought of change as something a person must go through, it is inevitable as you say. Like how the world shifts, continental plates move bit by bit silently. I always thought the earth was quite as it moves. Last night the earth moved violently, she ripped the land with a crash and collision as if it is rushing to close the distance between separated mountains. I remember the day that we started.

You are the earthquake that shook the very pillar of my existence. After the shock, from the cracks you encouraged me to learn and continue to grow. Not just change but to rebuild and improve to be a better version of myself. A beauty that can be found only on the damaged. There would never be anyone like you.

Seismograph was invented in 1880 so we could measure how much an earthquake had shook the very world. So we could take note of its power, to change anything along its path. And to make sense how to rebuild everything after the destruction. This is the same way I will always remember you.
