You held a Canon 50mm lens with an aperture of f/1.2.
Excessive, I thought. A regular lens with f/1.4 or f/1.8 is sufficient for any photographer at a fraction of the cost. You just wanted to spend an extra $1,000 for senseless luxury and some kind of peer approval in your high society. What did the ultra shallow depth of field allow you to focus on? Nothingness?
“It mimics my poor eyesight,” you smiled. “When I look at you, I only see you, and everything else is blurry.”
In that second of your smile, my world was blurry, too. Everything in my world was out of focus, except you. I shared so much of you that I even adopted your f/1.2 eyesight — was it physiologically possible?
No, you returned my eyes where they belong, and I poured your heart down the drain.
Interesting perspective, I like this piece a lot!
Thank you for reading :)
I appreciated it.
Thanks!
