This is how life works. First, there's a thesis (an idea). It gets viral, becomes the order of the day, everyone jumps on that train. Soon after, we get a few people who become tired of that thesis and begin to search for more answers to question. In their search, they stumble upon or create another thesis which will be opposite to what is already existing. This is called the antithesis. The thesis and antithesis begins to interact and intertwine. Through, fights, arguments, debates etc. Both will finally merge and become another idea called a synthesis. This new idea, after a while will get its own antithesis, merge and become another synthesis. And the cycle goes on.
Let's make it practical!
For example, Feminism. At a point, no one dissented. Everyone jumped on the feminism philosophy. It was the thesis. After a while, a new idea crept in. "Oh, we don't want to be feminist jare, we are proud of who we are, we are okay with being wives and all". That was the antithesis. As they merge, a synthesis will emerge.
Another example, Tithes! At a point, no one could ever go against the tradition of paying tithes in church. After a while, we had an antithesis. You see where I'm driving at?
Listen, society will always be society. Ideas will always go through this cycle. What you are dying over today will become a hotly contested issue tomorrow. What you believe in will be shaken badly. You'll realize that the thesis you thought was the best thing that ever happened to life is being torn apart apart by new and opposing ideas.
What am I driving at this morning? Its simple. Are you sure of what you're believing and fighting for.? Are you sure, you've sat down and thought this through and yes, you really believe in this movement.
No idea is worth following because your friends are involved, or because that's the trend right now on Facebook. You can't choose your personal beliefs, convictions and philosophies based on trends. Its got to be you! Who you are, what you stand for.
So that when there is a shaking. You'll be able to stand strongly knowing fully well that you are doing 'you' and no one else. On the flipside, if you even have to change your views or perspectives, at this point, you have matured enough to not just change them because people are changing, but, because as you grow, different experiences shape you up and give you your perspectives on things.
