Enri
So, we decided to go back to the lab in order to meet Arya for the afternoon, so we stood up and head to the street. When we were on the corridor in front of the door, someone opened it. And then Tara had a big smile and the man who had opened the door jump towards her to hug her, screaming her name with a joyful voice. I wasn’t really comfortable has the corridor was pretty narrow and I didn’t know who was that guy. He seemed to be really close to Tara but he can’t’ be her father neither his brother because her father has died and she don’t have any brother – but she may have one that I don’t know and that Tara and Arya hid to me. And as far that I remember Tara never told me about a boyfriend.
So, I stayed still while they were hugging and seemed to be really happy. Then after some seconds Tara told me it was her cousin whose mother is the sister of Tara’s father. Then we decided to go out and the boy stayed with us. I was pretty quiet but Tara seemed to have a lot of things to tell to her cousin, by the way as she was talking a lot I heard that the name of this guy was Enri.
We were walking in a direction that only Tara knew, Enri and I were just following her and listening to her. It seems that there were a long time since they have seen each other because she talked a lot about her father and Enri didn’t know that Mirek has died one year ago. So it was pretty interesting for me because I was able to know a lot more about her father. Now I know that he worked in robotics and more precisely in AI development, his goal was to create AI able to do some special stuff as regulating the car flows of the streets or to help elderlies in their daily life. It sounds pretty logical because he has been able to create me from nothing.
Then Tara talked about the death of her father:
“You know Enri my father was working with my mother before he died and at this time he was really busy with a project that was confidential, I don’t really know what he was working on and I think my mother didn’t know neither. But we were accustomed that my father went back home pretty late in the night from his job. On day he was peculiarly worried about something that my mother and I won’t be able to understand anymore I think. This night my father was late for the dinner as usual, but my mother didn’t felt comfortable at all, when she leaved her job she went to see my father and she felt that he was pretty distant and thoughtful but my mother thought that he was facing a problem on his project so she didn’t said anything and went back home. But this night my father didn’t go back home, and when I woke up, I saw my mother crying with a lot of blood in her hands. During this night my father has been assassinated and until then nobody found who has killed him, and the case has been closed. My mother left her job and opened a lab in which she helps people with their bionic prostheses."
When Tara had finished talking about the death of her father we arrived in front of a park. There were a lot of trees and this place looked really peaceful, contrasting with the busy noisy streets of Krolis. We decided to sit under a tree in order to be in the shade of it, far from the heat atmosphere here because of the bright sun.
And that’s only at this moment that Tara decided to introduce me to Enri, she apologies for forgetting to do it before but I wasn’t caring because social relations are pretty new to me and I don’t really know what I should do or things like that.
There was a thing that struck me when Tara introduce me. This is that she didn’t tell her cousin that I wasn’t human, she preferred to lie to him and to say that I was a close friend to her that she met this year because my mother was used to go to the lab of Arya since she lost her leg in an accident. After a short moment the sun was starting to set so Tara invited Enri to go with us to the lab in order to see Arya, Tara thought it would be a good idea and that Arya would really enjoy it. And it seemed that Enri was pretty happy to see Arya again.
So we decided to go back to the lab with Enri and walked for about 30 minutes before we was able to see the lab.
When we faced it Tara lost all of her happiness, it seemed that something was worrying her and she was really concentrated, we was able to see that she was afraid but I didn’t knew what could have scared her. She told us that something were wrong and showed us that the door was opened a bit and that there was not any sound coming from the lab… She was very discreet and look through the small interstice of the door and the wall letting the inside of the lab visible. Suddenly, Tara looked to us and told us with a lot of tears in her eyes that we are not safe at all here and that we should run to a safe place now.
