The Beijing city wall from the mark of 1949, started to bring into pieces. From 1949 to 1979 they brought the wall piece by piece until it was finally broken. From 1966 until 1976 was what we now call Cultural Revolution. Since the capital was Beijing, they started off by destroying the city walls, to show their strength. They needed something that marked their reign on destroying old culture in order to establish a new one, and so they chose the Beijing wall. One word was needed: “Break!”
The country was poor. People were starving. This was not what Chairman Mao wanted. Of course he imagined China to be better, but it wasn’t. So he needed a distraction. So to prove that there is a new China, he decided to burn stuff down. Hitting two birds with one stone. And the starting line was the wall.
This 10 years of messing around, of stirring China into a big hot mess, meant misery for all of the Chinese citizens, and especially the intellectuals. They were crying for the city but couldn't show tears on the face.
The great city walls stood there for more than 550 years, and they just teared it down. This historic building will be gone forever. The 550 years of history was also buried with it.In doing this they damage their own virtue and all Chinese people’s welfare, and the welfare of future generations.With the city wall at the front, China started slipping down a path of destruction.
Luckily today we escaped this disastrous path and entered a new era. What happened before is history, and what happens now builds up from there. People say history always repeats itself. But we hope history never repeat itself in this respect. Let`s just build up and never destruct in the history of future.
北京城墙

从1949年开始，北京的城墙开始被拆毁。从1949年到1979年，他们把城墙一块一块拆成碎片。从1966年到1976年就是我们现在所谓的“文化大革命”。北京是中国的首都，为显示新政权的力量，他们从破坏首都城墙开始。他们需要一些标志性事件，来证明他们建立新文化而摧毁旧文化的决心。所以他们选择了北京墙。只有一个字：“拆！“
当时这个国家很穷，人们在挨饿。也许这不是毛主席想要的。当然他想让中国更好，但事实并非如此。所以他需要分散众人注意力。为了证明有一个新的中国，他决定把旧东西烧掉。一举两得，而起点就是拆墙。
这十年的混乱，把中国卷入巨大的灾难。这意味着所有中国公民，尤其是知识分子的苦难。他们为北京城墙哭泣，但脸上却不能流出眼泪。
伟大的城墙矗立在那里超过550年，他们竟然把它夷为平地。这座历史性的建筑将永远消失，这550年的历史也一同被埋葬了。他们败坏了人类应有的美德，损害了中国人民的福祉，损害了子孙后代的福祉。
幸运的是，今天我们摆脱了灾难性的道路，进入了一个新的时代。以前发生的事情已成历史，现在发生的事情是从头开始。人们说历史总是重演。但我希望历史永远不要在这方面重演。让我们在未来的历史中永远建设，而不破坏。
