Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Here comes edition number 3 of famous German Writers based on our Google Search. Suggested by @charles1 we cover today Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - one of the most famous Germans of all time. He is an equivalent for Germany and the language across the world. Goethe was born 1749 in Frankfurt, studied law and lived as a celebrity of his time. His writing included epic and lyric poetry, dramas, novels and more. His influence is remarkable still not only by the cultural institution of Germany, the Goethe-Institut is named after him. an institute that promotes the study of German abroad and providing information about the country Germany and its culture, society and politics.
Goethe as writer
Every pupil in Germany probably knows at least one of the two following writings by Goethe. First to mention is "The Sorrows of Young Werther" which was an autobiographical novel by Johann and is one of the most important novels in German literature. This novel made him to become a famous international literary celebs and still is one of the best known of his works.

The second one is my favourite: FAUST. One of the few literature pieces you have to read in school I really enjoyed reading and analysing. Faust is a tragedy and probably the best work ever in German literature.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
You are right, he was a fountain of wisdom and insight. I wish whenever anyone thought of a German, Goethe would be the one who comes to mind.
Thank you so much for posting this! upvoted @roused
Thanks for the comment - Goethe would be better as certain Austrians indeed
Mensch, der blöde Schicklgruber! ;-)
Ja warum denn das nun?
That's a trail better left untraveled.
please elaborate on this sentence :-)
Actually it might be an early case of fake news. I just mentioned that name because I can't bring myself to use the other.
Who are the other two?
I didn't like the Sorrows of Young Werther, to be honest!
You mean by Goethe? I spoke about two so Sorrows of Young Werther - and the other one is Faust. Or you mean the other two writers in the editions before? Hesse and Nietzsche
Yeah I meant the other 2 writers. Thanks.
