A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET

in #writing7 years ago

I woke up that bright morning, ready to start the day. I had been battling with my final year school project and to crown it all with a very tough lecturer. I dressed up looking very casual and was on my way to school. While in the bus, my phone rang, it was my friend who hardly calls except there is an emergency or she needs something very important. Different thought raced my mind almost immediately. I eventually picked the call and she said “where are you? Your name have been called for Defense” What! Defense! How come. I asked so many questions but no answer. Oh my! I had been wrongly informed on the date. I eventually got to school and saw all my course mates dressed in suits, looking well dressed and I on the other hand looking out of place. I was startled and confused because my project was not complete, it was not signed yet and I was not prepared for defense. My friend suggested I go to her house that she has a dress that fits me. Thank God, one problem was solved. I located the next available cab and took a bike to her house, changed into the dress and back to school. While on the bike, I saw a shop where they sell shoes, I told the bike man to stop, I bought a shoe and I was on my way to school looking all sweaty. I needed a suit for my dressing to be complete and no one was available at that moment. Eventually I saw a friend of mine (a guy) and borrowed his suit, yes I was looking funny but it was better than nothing. I summoned courage and went to the defense room. One of the lecturer asked where I had been, I explained and my defense started and in no time, it was over. I had a distinction.
