WOW!
- One year have already passed...
I signed up to Steemit exactly one year ago. Today is my 1 year celebration!
Dear Steemit,
You have given me so many laughters, so much fun and so many incredible stories have been shared. - I owe you so much for this outstanding year... And I'm truly thankful for all the support I've got and this amazing opportunity I've been given.
Not only have I've made some friends, I've also witnessed tons of wonderful things during my time here. I've seen weird, odd and funny stories and I've been lucky enough to reach some superb rewards, which always feels magical.
I have never had support from whales or dolphins on a regular basis...
Most of my articles have never reached this much. Most of my contributions have reached rewards like this:
And don't get me wrong here. - I love Steemit and the support I get.
- I know it's a commonly used phrase, but I don't publish articles for the money.
Truth to be told, the rewards are obviously amazing... But money is not what I focus on. And honestly speaking, I guess you could easily see that too, just by taking a look at the rewards of my articles.
I am a full time freelancer and I've been working online for several years. However, I have never had an experience as good as Steemit. - I believe Steemit will change Social Media forever. Steemit changed my life.
I work hard and I'm dedicated. I dream of becoming an established Steemian who can make a living as a blogger. My role on Steemit is to act as a support pillar. - That's my decision.
I believe Steemit is in need of great support pillars. I wouldn't call myself great because I'm not that self-righteous, but I definitely believe I do good things on and for Steemit.
I focus on peoples experience on Steemit. I work hard to improve the experience for everyone and I mainly focus on Steemit's minnows. - I do this because I truly believe that minnows will be very important for Steemit's future.
If I teach them right... If I educate them, motivate and inspire them to do good things and to share quality content, I know Steemit will grow and be an even better place for everyone. - That's who I am, and that's what I do.
I am a support pillar who strives to encourage, motivate and inspire people around me.
Just a few weeks ago...
My profile and content started to get some serious exposure. Not only due to @ausbitbank's generous Resteems, but also due to the fact that @teamsteem started to support my content. The amount of followers increased rapidly and the rewards started to build-up. @joanaltres just recently Resteemed two of my articles and this person is a true inspiration. - With more than 10,000 followers, she's the Steemian with most followers but more or less with the least rewards. - I wrote more in-depth about this yesterday in this article:
Anyhow, I mainly target minnows and I've shared a bunch of different articles during my time on Steemit. - Recently I published a Steemit 101's series and I try to cover all the important topics and basics on Steemit.
Here's some of the articles I've shared in the past:
Not only that..
I also raise questions and concerns.
And I do this to highlight different things, to share my opinion but also to help others. I want to share my knowledge and my experience with everyone. I might not be a heavily invested whale on Steemit. I might not be a well-known established Steemian but I am a person who works hard for the "little guys", and I strive to encourage these people.
That being said...
I don't share minnow-related things only, even though most of my articles is focused on minnows. I also share personal things. - I share photos, stories, thoughts, ideas and I share things from my personal life:
I also shared a Steemit Video I've made:
I live and breath Steemit.
- I know it sounds corny but it's true.
I spend countless of hours on Steemit every single day. I read tons of amazing content, I upvote content, I write articles, reply on peoples comments and I talk with people on Steem.chat and in Discord. - I interact with other peoples content too and I spend tons of time thinking about the next thing to do. - The next thing to post about.
This is probably one of the biggest time wasters actually, except the actual writing of my articles. - To come up with the next thing to do.
I spend approximately 2-3 hours on every article I write. I am not native in English so I often struggle to find the right words or phrases to use, and truth to be told, no matter how many hours I spend on an article, I'll never be 100% satisfied. - Even the articles I've had the most success with... I'm still not 100% satisfied with the article, even though I am deeply thankful for the rewards.
At some point, I just have to wrap things up and push that "POST" button. And it's easier said and done. I can't publish an empty article so I need to spend time to come up with a great idea before I can start to write it. - That's when I often realize that I have literally everything I need already.
I just read the comments from my previous articles. I respond to them and that often gives me inspiration for future articles! - Thank you for all your support and for all the comments! - It's a huge help.
Feel free to request upcoming topics I should write about!
Even though I'm working hard to come up with good articles to share with minnows... It's often tricky. - If you have any questions or if you want me to share my experience on a certain subject. - Please make such a request within the comments of my articles.
I always read every comment I get. Even though I might not reply back on all of them, I appreciate every single one. Thank you!
What Now?
This is some of the things I've been doing during this year... I haven't mentioned any in-depth details regarding my power down, the reason for it and I haven't shared any details regarding my panic anxiety, my depression or about my father who passed away. - These are all very important things to me, but I've decided to not bring them up in this article. - This is about my journey on Steemit, what I do for Steemit and what I believe is a good approach...
Personal stories and a trip down memory lane is for future posts of mine. - Thank you.
Congrats on the 1 year. You stuck around. Lots of people did not. I'll have my one year next month. I suppose I'll need to do a post about that. Maybe a 'worst of' post to give newer users encouragement that even the dolphins had to minnows first.
Thank you very much! And yeah, you're having great results on Steemit so you should definitely publish a post on your 1-year day. :)
That would be an interesting read @gringalicious! Looking forward to that one :)
Ouchie you had your screen name 'hitmeasap' on your face in the first pic..and the Steem logo hit you in the nose!
Btw, I hope that as we minnows grow larger, we will remember to pay our dues to you for your support by propelling you to sharkhood (at least) with our votes :)
Happy anniversary, @hitmeasap!! Steemit is a better place because of you :)
Thank you very much @foodie.warrior, I appreciate it. :)

Congratulations my friend, sound like its been a hell of a year for you. You will be at 1000 followers before the weekend is over. Steem on buddy.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it! :) - I don't know if I'll be at 1K before the weekend is over, but let's hope so! :)
Gratz on the 1 year buddy. You've just grabbed yourself another follower. I've only been here a month myself but I'm really enjoying it. I had no idea people would enjoy the things I write. Looking forward to more posts from yourself and my 1 year Steemit Birthday :D
Thank you, I appreciate it! :)
Seems like you've going through the ups and downs of Steemit. Trying to make living in any field, blogging, etc. is never easy. Well, one day, you'll be able to look back and say, this is what I've achieved after all the hardwork I've done. I would say the sense of satisfaction will be immense. Keeping writing original content or sharing interesting stories and push through the lows. Most importantly, just have fun doing what you are doing. Don't stop steeming! :D
I agree with everything you've said. And I won't stop, I'll never stop. It doesn't matter if I reach my goals or not,I won't stop working towards them anyway. Someday, I might be able to reach them :)
@hitmeasap congratulations on your anniversary here on steemit. Looking forward to more content and great things you contribute to the community. Enjoy your day.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it! :)
