"I Suck At Keeping My Voting Power..."

I joined In July 2016 and I have never been good at keeping my Voting Power. I love sharing and I love to spread the wealth, so even though my upvotes have been worth $0.01 I have never been able to stop voting on content. To vote for something and to be able to see it rise in value is some sort of a blessing and most people I talk to in real life can't grasp that reality no matter how much I try to educate them. Not because I am a bad tutor, but mainly due to their own mindset. Many of them are either "fiat-lovers" who haven't accepted that they're all just sock puppets handled by corrupt governments and others are just to ignorant because they have never seen anything besides facecrap and twatter.

We are all aware of the procedure on Steemit and while we have some people on Steemit who never upvote anyone besides themselves, my approach has always been different. I won't lie to you, I love to earn from my contributions and it helps me in several ways. Not only can I use my rewards to help me financially in real life, I am also able to grow my account and lately, I have also been able to delegate all my own Steem Power so others can grow in a faster pace.

deles.png

The latter is only possible due to @fulltimegeek and his #StewardsOfGondor and in the screenshot above, you can see the people I delegate my Steem Power too. @asapers is my newly launched project designed to help the newcomers on Steemit, much like other curation teams, but I truly believe that we are or at least will, provide something unique and things that never have been done on Steemit before. That is my gift to you. To Strive to improve the overall experience on Steemit and I honestly believe that this is the perfect way to empower us all in the long haul.

Red fish, Minnows, Dolphins and Whales will most likely always be just that... And my goal is not to grow a single user to become a whale. The goal and the intention of @asapers is to support the newcomers when they are starting to feel disappointed in the "system" because truth to be told, most newcomers will be upset, angry and sad sooner or later... And once that happen, many of them will quit because they feel overlooked and they will feel that it is impossible to have an impact on Steemit.

My goal is to give these people a sturdy foundation to rely on, a place they will feel safe and something they will get inspiration and encouragement from. By providing them that, I will also be able to reduce the amount of people who leaves Steemit in despair and I will grow our beloved community by making us stronger.

I don't have much, but I have decided to delegate everything I have. And what was a project where I would delegate 100 Steem Power to 6 other Steemians has already grown into something more than that. To the untrained eye and to the masses, project @asapers probably doesn't look like much at all... But let me tell you, it is something worth mention and it will be something to count on.

I recently decided to delegate @insideoutlet an additional 100 Steem Power due to everything she has done for @asapers so far. She's taken on the role of a leader and she leads by example. She does a load of work "behind the scenes" and while others might not realize that, it does not go unnoticed. That is why I believe she is worthy of more than others in @asapers right now. However, we are still very new and many things have still not been set in stone, so it wouldn't be possible for everyone in the team to accomplish the same things as others in the group right now. But I believe in each member of the @asapers and I wouldn't have handpicked them if I didn't see potential.

With time, I believe that our team will grow and meanwhile I appreciate all the people who've been asking to join, or how to help, we do not accept new members at this point. Once we have everything figured out, I believe that we will expand to reach an even wider audience and I appreciate all the support towards the project.

With that being said, if you want to support us there are things you can do. You can support the members individually by voting, resteems and comments but you can also follow the official @asapers account so you don't miss our curation posts and/or any future announcements.

"You Helped Me Believe in Steem Enough To Invest."

Due to @braxton101's investment in Steem Power, I have stopped to delegate him and I have been able to delegate more to the @asapers account instead. He was very quick to invest in Steem Power and he told me this:

So within just a few weeks, he went from a tiny amount of Steem Power (with my delegation included) to more than 1000 Steem Power. So his account are worth more than my own now!

That's what I call amazing and I am both honored and glad for his investment and commitment. However, he has already done more than that.

With the mindset of a true @asaper, he immediately started to "pay it forward" by delegating 100 Steem Power to a fellow Steemian! And to tell you the truth, that I have been part of his decision, just based upon my own actions, my behaviour and my mindset is a fantastic feeling!

So thank you @fulltimegeek for everything you have done for me personally. Take a look at how you have changed our entire platform by your generous act. This would not have been possible without you and due to your delegation to me, I have already been able to not only launch my own project, I have also been able to spread your vision and got others to delegate too. And obviously, thank you @braxton101 for being awesome!

"I'm Back At 100% Voting Power..."

This was not an easy task and I can totally understand if some of you have wondering why I haven't been upvoting any of your content these last ~30 hours or so. This was not because of you. It was all me. Once I reached more than 70% voting power I decided to go for it. I wanted to reach 100% again, and I made it! I am back at 100% and I've been sitting on 100% for several hours now... And now, I'll start to curate with the same goal as always. To be mentioned as a "Legend Upvoter" in @abh12345's weekly SOG report!

Thank You For The Support!

congrats @hitmeasap.
i cant over emphasize how much you have been of help not just to me, even up to the people i have introduced to steemit, i simply tell them"first on your follow list must be @hitmeasap @abh12345 @tarazkp, @lyndsaybowes, @khaleelkazi (and a few others i cant really remember their names now,) and when you are good enough to start writing and stand on your own, i believe you should have learnt enough to stand properly".

i am a beneficiary of your benevolence. thank you and a big congrats.
And thank you too @fulltimegeek, "you have touched lives that have in turn touched other lives"
THANK YOU, GRACIAS, OBRIGADO.. LOL

Thanks once again

@hitmeasap, this is very thoughtful of you. I have come across few angels like you on this platform, its so refreshing to see this post from you, i just have to do the needful by following you so i can learn all i could.

You are the man!

Thank you very much! :)

Wow, thank you for mentioning me in your list of who to follow!

Many of them are either "fiat-lovers" who haven't accepted that they're all just sock puppets

Positively one of the best quotes from you ever, lol. Made me laugh at the one.

Great post. Really glad to see what you are doing for the community as a whole and individual members. The fact that you could give someone else the faith in this platform enough for them to invest that much $$$, that's a sweet deal man... Major kudos to you.

Like I always say, and truly mean it, Steemit needs more people like you.

Keep going! Can't wait until ASAPers is right up there with curie, MSP, etc. Will be a dope thing, and you can definitely achieve that my man.

I'm glad you liked it @jamesgetsit and I appreciate your awesome comments as always. They are usually filled with encouragement and positivity and that's really cool and I'm thankful for it.

I don't know if @asapers ever will be near what other curator teams are, but I do strive to have a positive impact on the platform and to do something unique. And I think we're doing a pretty decent job so far. Only time will tell how much of an impact we will have. :)

Red fish, Minnows, Dolphins and Whales will most likely always be just that..

What makes you say that? I transitioned from Minnow to Dolphin just yesterday.

But yeah, I don’t think that organic growth by earning here could turn someone into a Whale. Those folks all invested heavily.

What I meant by that was that these are the different levels we have. I didn't mean that it's impossible to climb the ladder. The contrary actually. Which is why I've launched @asapers. I want to focus on newcomers and help them grow. Sorry for the confusion! :)

How do you select a Steemian to help? Do you already know them IRL?
What characteristics are key to your choices?

Congratulations on your achievements & happy to see your helpful ways!

@asapers are very new and we have only 3 curation posts right now. Here's how it works (right now).

What makes this different?
We are going to use @steem-plus to profit share* directly with our curation selections. For this reason the selections will be limited to three each “READ ME A.S.A.P” issue, each writer receiving 10% of the SteemPower, for transparency the author of this curation post will receive 50%, 15% stays with the @asapers, the remaining 5% automatically go’s to @steem-plus to further develop that tool for our use.

So, at this point, we've been selecting 3 people from our followers list, and with time, we will spread it more and more. And look for content elsewhere too. But, due to us being new and with very few followers at this point, we figured it would be best for everyone to curate our followers content. So the easiest way to get support from @asapers this early on, (even though it's obviously not guaranteed) is to simply follow the @asapers account.

Hope that answers your question. :)

Thank you for the clarification. I think I understand how it works. Followed @asapers.

This is great!
I used to stay at 100% voting power in my early days on steem thinking if i upvote someone, i was going to loose something, until i knew about curation and i started upvoting since then i have never seen the 100% again..lol
Since the delegation from you, i have also become a frequent upvoter!
Thanks for making us believe in steemit
Regards from @asapers

@insideoutlet is an amazing blogger, now I see the reason For the delegation, it's been a while
You only suck at growing your steem power because you are addicted to curating.

Welcome back to a hundred percent buddy

Thank you @josediccus for the compliment. :)

I just replied to another comment with this:

"I know I'll earn some curation rewards no matter how I upvote and I upvote people in an attempt to pay it forward, empower others, spread the wealth and to improve the overall experience on Steemit so my curation rewards ar definitely not something I focus on. :)"

So yeah, I basically don't care about curation rewards at all. I could probably earn several times the curation rewards I earn right now, and even though that would obviously help me in many ways, I have come to the conclusion that it's better for me to approach Steemit with the type of mindset I have, and continue to work towards the goals I have... Because that suits me. I truly believe that I will manage to do greater things by not focusing on my own curation rewards at this point.

I will earn Steem Power and grow my account by other means than curation rewards... And with time, I also believe that the curation rewards I miss out on now, will get back to me later on. :)

Also @insideoutlet is an awesome author indeed, but that's actually not the main reason for the delegation. The main reason for the delegation is because I saw potential in the person on the other side of the screen and the additional delegation is just a small token of appreciation for everything she does with @asapers, and because she has proven me right about my assumptions about her being awesome. :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

@htmeasap, Selflessness is a virtue veery few of us possess.

You are one of such "few", continue with your good work, you are an encouragement to new steemains like myself.

Thank You

With all the comments you get plus all the stuff you upvote, it's outstanding that you could get back to 100% VP. It must've hurt not being able to upvote somethings. I have that problem too sometimes, I find a tag or creator I really like, and just constantly upvote everything I see that I think it good content.

Yeah, it's been a couple of odd days. I've tried to recharge my VP for several days, probably a few weeks actually, but it wasn't until recently I realized how much I had regained, so it was easy to stop voting when I saw that. I obviously want to upvote like I've been doing previously, but I actually think I'll rethink my strategy a little bit. I mean, I will still strive to upvote as much content as possible, but I think I'll do that in a different way than before. I need to spend some time to think about it before I decide though.

It heart touching and soul moving to read of your generosity and help towards others. May your basket never run empty :)

VP@100%.jpg

Brilliant work, that is no small feat, now to stay between that and 70%. I remember the first time I figured out what VP was, I had 72 hours until I got close to 100%, it was torture, lol... I try to stay around 80%.

You have done a lot for our platform. You showed that good can live here. And you are a perfect example.

Вы сделали очень многое для нашей платформы. Вы показали, что здесь может жить добро. И Вы прекрасный пример.

I can sense your sincerity to help and to support this community. Id like to say that I admire you for your humility and maturity to actually feel happy and proud when the people you've helped sort of overtakes you (i.e. having higher account value than yours). But you know you've done good and made the right decision when you see them paying it forward. Congratulations! 😊

Thank you very much for your awesome comment. I truly appreciate it and it certainly feels awesome to see that people I've helped or encouraged in one way or another have been able to grow and/or started to pay it forward themselves too. It's really awesome. I don't mind them growing faster than me, or having more success. I'm just thankful for their contributions and that I have been able to do something for the platform in general. :)

This is really wonderful of u @hitmeasap. There is always this awesome feeling when you know you are actually part of someone's success. Upvoting is surely part of it. Thanks much, keep doing the good work and more power to your elbow

It's all about the way of life.
@fulltimegeek has influenced you earlier and you took it yourself to make other hard workers like yourself believe in themselves.
That's the main point. It's a community where everyone should help eachother..
Look at me, I withdrew some money from Steemit and I knew that when I will be do it, I will be able bring my friend's attentions on STEEMIT, which I successfully did.. Many of them already joined, more will in future..

Only thing remaining for me is to teach them how to be in STEEMIT..
Wish me luck :)

Awesome it has taken me a while to figure out how the curation rewards work and why you shouldnt just upvote every single article you see. I know it can be hard sometimes as you want to share the love and there is alot of good content on here to choose from.

Check out my articles about the things ive learnt from being new on steem and also about curation rewards:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@conradt/the-complete-newbies-guide-to-curation-rewards

https://steemit.com/steemit/@conradt/things-i-wish-i-knew-when-i-joined-steemit

why you shouldnt just upvote every single article you see.

I have to tell you, I don't upvote everything I see, but I have had more than 1000 upvotes per week for several weeks. (Except last week when I reached 996 upvotes).

However, you are still correct with that statement. You shouldn't upvote everything you see and there's certain things to do if you're looking to earn as much as possible in curation rewards. That being said, I don't focus on my own curation rewards at all. I know I'll earn some curation rewards no matter how I upvote and I upvote people in an attempt to pay it forward, empower others, spread the wealth and to improve the overall experience on Steemit so my curation rewards ar definitely not something I focus on. :)

Yeah I Agree I think there is a balance between just looking and seeking out articles just because you think they will go 'viral' and thus earn you curation rewards and also trying to reward smaller 'minnows' who you think are doing a good job and writing valuable articles.

Congradulations. You are a perfect example of how this works in a good and positive way. Your generosity is overwhelming and a precedent for others to follow.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it!

This is a good strategy! I also dream to be on the list @abh12345 too , but not as a curator (because I don't coincide with the majority of users by time zone), and in the second League) Good Luck!

Posts are very useful by a wise person like you and never less a person's sustenance for sharing for others, be it information or other rewards. best wishes for you..

Follow , resteemed, upvote and comment for u 👌👌👍👍👍

steemit is a beautiful creation beyond social media and one day can be scalable to a decentralized banking system and that's why I am eager to invest in it as soon as possible!
