when leaves fall
attachment is a funny thing isn't it.
you get used to having someone around,
someone to dry your hair,
someone to put toothpaste on your toothbrush,
someone to cuddle with before you fall asleep,
someone who cooks for you and looks after you when you're sick,
someone who you want to report the little observations and notes you made during the day.
and suddenly- when this person is no longer around physically due to different circumstances,
you find yourself momentarily lost.
the discomfort of being on your own again.
having to dry your hair yourself,
cuddling a book before you fall asleep and going to the pharmacy on your own to pick up your medicine.
this cycle repeats.
the attachment becomes deeper.
the luxury brings more discomfort.
it's kind of like a drug, really.
every time, you go back in search for more,
a stronger and longer lasting substance.
but what we don't realise is that this luxury should never be taken for granted.
the moment you take it for granted,
the torment you shall endure afterwards becomes even more overbearing.
this luxury should be treasured.
every second spared,
every second gold.
now that we're back to square one again,
as another fall dawns on us,
we walk on by.
except this time around,
with a little more warmth and love kept within our hearts.
develop yourself spiritually.
you will reap the fruits of understanding and tolerance.
we must want what's best for the other,
vice versa,
in order for this bond to thrive,
even if it pains you.
time and distance will sort everything out.
