Life can be so contradicting sometimes. I have observed carefully that most times when peole walk into big malls, boutiques and supermarkets they do not bother to question their prices or complain about increase in price of some important goods that are needed daily. They pay exactly what they see on the price tags and even hand out tips to the staff with smiles on their faces most especially if the attendant is a good looking lady; they have forgotten that using ladies to sell products is just a marketing strategy.
The moment they are out of these shops and want to buy banana and peanut or other commodities on the street, their bargaining power rises to the top like someone who has a high blood pressure.

A poor woman with hungry children at home tells you banana is N100. She even takes her time to explain how difficult it was for her to have been able to plant it on her farm, the stress of language cultivation, purchase of suckers, wetting and weeding her plot to produce this lovely fruit for you. But thy insist that if it's not N50, they are not buying. She even goes on her knees and explain the situation of things in her family for you trying to convince you to buy it at the price he told you, you still ignored that and walked out on her.
Some people even step back into their cars and make to drive away. But because 'half bread is better than none', the woman is forced to run after you and sell at no gain.
*In her heart she cries, she's worried about how she'll survive with her children. She silently reassures herself that 'It's well since she is not returning home with the banana. Her motivation is "God will definitely provide some other day".
Meanwhile you drive off and happily eating the luscious banana saying to yourself that you got it a very "Reasonable Price".
Take some seconds to think about this!!!.
Am always moved to tears when I see people who genuinely and helplessly hawk petty goods to feed and survive for that day, especially women and children.*
Please don't bargain too hard with small vendors. They do business not to buy designer bags, trendy phones, watches, shoes or designer clothes, but to FEED the family and CARE for the children in school.*
This touched me when I realised it ... so lets CHANGE our ways. Its another way of spending on humanity in the will of God.
"He who gives to the poor lends to his Maker"
I would have loved it so much if you can resteem this post so that more people can read it. Let's make the world a better place for everyone just the song of Michael Jackson "We are the world"
