apparently one of the keys to addiction, is that our addictive behaviors result in a burst of dopamine. When our brain is overstimulated with too much dopamine, it reduces the amount of dopamine receptors we have. Resulting in a lower ability to feel good without the artificial stimulation.

One way to combat this is through exercise, which not only boosts your dopamine levels, but can help to re-grow new dopamine receptors.
