A crow

in #writing7 years ago

She had been taking a bath for a long time. Left the door ajar while I got lost trying to see where the vapor trail ended throuhgh that crack and the cold air that filled most of the room began. I did lie down motionless on the mattress, waiting for her to finally cross that threshold (put a pocket book on my side). The sound of the water inside the shower enraptured me. I waited. Don´t know if it was for two minutes or a couple of hours, but during that indefinte time I embraced that feeling of happiness that she gave me through many years, and I could visualize how oxygen danced around my old lungs. I never realized that the noise from the horns of several cars, eight floors below, desperated a small group of people around her. I prefer to think of her as beautiful crow.
